People with Alzheimer's and Severe Mental Retardation: Although Alzheimer's and severe mental retardation are not explicitly mentioned in the law, court decisions have recognized the right to income tax exemption, as they are types of mental illness and also given the severe impact these diseases have on the lives of those affected.
